Screed is the structure of different layers of mortar, which is laid on the substrate (with or without bonding). This can also be applied to an intermediate separating or insulating layer.
The screed matrix fulfils one or more functions and is mainly used to compensate for unevenness and differences in height of the substrate. Another aspect is the thermal and acoustic insulation.
